DORTMUND - Leave it to the Germans to come up with the longest domain name in the world: http://www.WiemenschlichMenschensind...prachefrsch.de.

The long-winded moniker is a quote from classical German literary genius Friedrich Schiller, the 200th anniversary of whose death is being marked in the German-speaking world in 2005.

Not surprisingly, the domain name is for the website operated by the German Language Society (VDS) which views itself as a linguistic watchdog agency in matters pertaining to the German language.

Roughly translated, the 63-space domain name means: "Just how human humans are is shown by how they treat their mother tongue."
